It is complicated that two different people cross their ways in life. But it sometimes happens, as in this destination wedding at Hotel Maria Cristina.
Leire and Salam create one of those couples that, somehow, make you think that the human being is a very special being. A broken leg and a party around a paella: those where the only two ingredients that the fate chose to make these two, a basque girl and a libanese boy, meet in Dubai. Original, isn’t it?
When they told me their story, I couldn’t help but smile. Sometimes, the serendipity that two people need to cross their ways really amazes me. But what I really liked about Laire and Salam is how they had been able to create a new and diverse family, despite the fact that they come from such different cultures.
Leire started her destinatio wedding at Hotel Maria Cristina in her suite. Salam, however, was getting ready at the Hotel de Londres, after an epic party with his friends the previous night. Although every wedding is different, the mixture of cultures of this one was an special ingredient. This allowed me to learn some traditions that I didn’t know. For instance, Salam’s parents were on time to meet Leire and gift her some beautiful jewels, which were the perfect complement for the wedding dress designed by Amaia Albes.
Only one ceremony for two different cultures
Some minutes later, Leire arrived with Salam’s parents by car to San José de la Montaña church. The christian rite (almost 40% of the libanese people is christian) sealed their link and let the party begin at the Hotel María Cristina. There, the banquet was interrupted several times by arab traditional music, which made everyone stand up from their seats and start dancing. Afterwards, the party, spiced up by a group of latin live music and Bengoa DJs, was simply epic.
Sincerely, it was a day to remember thanks to Leire and Salam, their family and friends, the music and the mixture of cultures. And thanks to the team of 20 Eventos as well, who arranged everything so that every single detail was perfect.
