Kim and Ian arranged their destination wedding in Getaria just the way they wanted, and they tried to do what is most important in a wedding: to be happy and to have fun.
All the boys from London are ugly. This was what Kimberley said to one of her friends until he watched Ian just in front of her during a New Year’s Eve party. “Wow, this must be the exception that proves the rule. That pretty boy has to be mine!”
So, despite Ian arrived late to their first date, Kim gave him a chance. Luckily, the threads that the destiny had moved finally tied them and they decided to say “yes, I do”.
For their wedding, they chose Getaria as their destination. Although this small village is far from where they live, their family and friends made them feel at home. Laura Satué, the wedding planner, arranged everything perfectly, and I had the chance to be their destination wedding photographer and a privileged witness of what happened that very special day.
Kimberley started getting ready in her room at hotel San Prudentzio, while listening the White Album by The Beatles. There some black clouds in the sky, but Kim and Ian were very sure that their destination wedding was not probably going to be a sunny one, but they were used to grey skies, so they did not find any excuse not to have fun.
Their guests got near the little church of San Prudentzio. Each one of us thought that the ceremony would be quite conventional, but suddenly, Kimberley entered the church dancing with her father. After this big surprise, the old friends’ speeches, the live music and the sacred Celtic rite of the handfasting created a very special and moving ceremony.
Afterwards, the cocktail, the dinner and the traditional speeches under a marquee outdoors opened the way for a night party that cleared up the British good taste for the music. Definitely, Kim and Ian arranged their wedding just the way they wanted, far away from clichés and they tried to do what is most important in a wedding: to be happy and to have fun.
As The Beatles would sing: “All you need is love”
There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done. Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung. Nothing you can say, but you can learn how to play the game. It’s easy…
