The photographs are not important. The people are important. The party is important.
The photographs are not important.
The people are important.
The party is important.
These simple sentences constitute our mantra as destination wedding photographers. It is certainly true that the photographs will be the only thing that will remain from the great day after many years. Our pictures will help draw memories, will bring back details almost forgotten and will again wake up the passed joy.
Because a wedding is, mainly, a happy moment where two people celebrate their love in front of their families and friends. And that happiness must not be altered by anything or anyone, even less by us. Everything must flow so that the party will be memorable, because if not, the good memories would not be so, and that must not ever happen.
Because the photographs are not important.
The people are important.
The party is important.
We, like real moments harvesters, above all, must adapt to what happens in front of our cameras. Otherwise, somehow, we would be betraying our clients. And our work is not worse if, by desire of the couple, there are no pictures of the getting ready moments. There’s nothing wrong if there are not couple portraits because the bride and the groom prefer to be with their guests instead of staying alone with us for thirty minutes. And there’s nothing wrong with not having a cake, or presents for the guests, or a first dance… Because we believe that a wedding must have the script that every couple wants to write.
Because the photographs are not important.
The people are important.
The party is important.
The documentary approach of each and every one of our reports is the best way for the couple to feel comfortable, enjoy the party and get authentic pictures that show what happened without artifacts nor inventions. And if the script moves away from the conventional and forgets about cliches, we will toast and join the party.
María, Isaac, enjoy your pictures. They reflect your destination wedding at Hika Txakolindegia, full of joy, laughs, light and good people.
But remember our mantra: the photographs are not important.
The people are important.
The party is important.
Big hugs!
PS. We must thank Virginia and Edurne, the wedding planners on Sunday Atelier, for their fantastic job, again. As always, it’s a big pleasure to work by their side. Kisses!
